Personality: Once upon a time, there was a girl named Kanna Hijiri. As a child, she accidentally murdered three of her friends when a gun they were playing with went off. She spent most of her life guilt ridden, and therefore didn't show much emotion. However, as she grew up, she always envisioned a perfect version of herself, one that was able to live guilt free because the accident hadn't occurred. When she was given a chance to make a wish, she created that perfect version of herself to live out the life she never could. She gave her clone her old name, Kanna Hijiri, and she named herself Nico Kanna, changing her first name to her last.
However, things didn't particularly go as planned. Kanna did have a normal life, with friends and family, but one day Kanna found out that she was a clone of Nico. She instantly felt like her whole life up to this point was a lie, she regretted ever being created, and she began to hate herself for being inhuman. Kanna's current personality is twisted due to the realization that she herself is not human. It's just a fact that she literally can't come to grips with, to the point where she decides that the only thing to do is destroy who created her. She's not only insane, but she's also literally devastated. After finding out about her true origins, Kanna instantly vowed to kill Nico and her friends (who call themselves the pleiades saints.)
After observing them, she realizes that she's not the only clone that the pleiades saints have created. In fact, they've created thirteen clones of a girl named Michiru Kazusa. The most recent clone was called Kazumi. As fellow clones, Kanna felt a kinship towards Kazumi, and began to reformulate her plan to include the destruction of the human race so that Kanna and Kazumi wouldn't have anyone to be inferior to. Kanna goes to great lengths to begin to form and carry out her plan.
See, Kanna is an incredibly intelligent person. She doesn't lash out at the pleiades saints right away, oh no, instead she bides her time. When she forms her contract to become a puella magi, she does so with the intention of carefully watching the group, infiltrating them, and then taking them out when it was opportunistic for her. She also, you know, wanted them to suffer a whole lot while she killed them, because she is incredibly sadistic. And, to be honest, Kanna only has one screwup, which wasn't even her own fault, one of her subordinates screwed her over. Every plan Kanna has had she's followed exactly to the letter and she managed to succeed in infiltrating the group and killing four of the pleiades saints so far. Really, even if she is insane with rage and depression, she's calculating, determined, and should never be overlooked.
Abilities: Kanna has the ability to tap into the powers of the pleiades saints. Basically, she can use them at will without them even knowing about it, as that was her wish when she contracted. Kanna uses this to create evil nuts (using one characters regeneration abilities and another's analysis magic) which automatically turn a puella magi into a witch. Though she can use the powers individually as well, and she can even use her ability to spy on the pleiades saints' activities.
Kanna also can use magical string to attack and restrain her opponents. The string itself resembles puppeteer string.
